On 14 October 2026, H.E. Ms. Verónica Margarita Bahaia Daboud presented her credentials as the Permanent Representative of Honduras to the International Anti-Corruption Academy (IACA) during a meeting at the Academy’s campus in Laxenburg, Austria.
During the meeting, IACA’s Dean and Executive Secretary, Mr. Drago Kos, thanked Honduras for its engagement and expressed hope that its support for the Academy would continue to grow. The discussion also addressed IACA’s activities across Latin America and the Caribbean, a priority region for the Academy. These include the IACA Regional Summer Academy for Central and South America, to be held in Panama City in April 2027 (more information available at: https://www.iaca.int/online/regional-summer-academy/). The Dean expressed readiness to cooperate with Honduras on future anti-corruption initiatives that could be implemented in the region under the framework of the Organization of American States (OAS).
Ambassador Bahaia Daboud outlined Honduras’ ongoing efforts to strengthen public integrity and expressed interest in learning more about the opportunities IACA can offer, particularly in the training and education of new government officials and diplomats.
Honduras has been a Party to IACA since 2018.
